Tenpin Bowling

With no meeting on the 4th June, it was suggested that the Club should make good use of the time and blow the dust off the idea of going bowling. Several members signed up to make fools of themselves by hurling balls at pegs!!!

We met at the Ashbank Hotel to be fortified with food and drink before the forthcoming battle. According to Ben Wade, the fun started with a “car race” to the bowling at the Festival Site. In fact we all arrived in the same order in which we left the Ashbank.

Duly booked in, bowling shoes fitted, and teams drawn from the hat, the battle commenced!!! Richard led the way with the first “STRIKE” of the evening, quickly followed by one from Ben. Karen played her own version of ‘tenpin’ by bowling her first ball then aiming for the gap she had just made in the pegs – not really the aim of the game. I fact it worked well and she nearly won the 2nd game in her team.

By the time the second game was half way through, some people were feeling the strain of the highly active sport – namely Dave Cope and the Prof, the former claiming psychical injury and the latter his arm was dropping off!!!!

Chris had minor slip up when he either dropped the ball or bowled it the wrong and then nearly slipped over.

The night was a roaring success and the results did not matter – well yes they did!!!
